Experience the Highs – working smarter together

The Conference Organising Committee in conjunction with the New England Weeds Authority would like to take this opportunity to invite interested parties to submit an abstract  outlining their proposed presentation for the 19th biennial NSW Weeds Conference to be held in Armidale NSW, 16th to 19th October, 2017.

The NSW Weeds Conference commenced in 1971 as a “Weeds School”. The event has since grown to become recognised as the premier event in NSW to discuss weeds and related vegetation issues. The event brings together over 300 delegates including weed specialists from government, academia, community groups and private businesses from across Australia and internationally. It provides an opportunity to meet with other contemporary weed professionals, to share knowledge and learn about innovative weed management through a fresh range of learning experiences.

Abstract submissions around the session themes below are invited or any suggestions you may have – tell us your stories!

·      Community Engagement

·      Collaboration in Action

·      Health & Wellbeing: Putting your best foot forward

·      Other

Anyone is eligible to present, provided their abstract is received by the due date, their abstract is accepted for inclusion in the scientific program and their registration is lodged by the due date. While registrants’ wishes will be accommodated where possible, the Conference Organising Committee reserves the right to arrange presentations in themes as it sees fit.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Abstracts of 100-300 words should be submitted as an attachment (MS word) and emailed to sgallen@conferencecompany.com.au by Friday 31 March 2017.

Abstracts must include the following:

Title of presentation

Author(s) full name(s) – with the presenting author underlined

Institutional affiliation or organisation

Brief biography of the presenting author

Specify preferred theme

Abstract submissions will be acknowledged by email and acceptances will be communicated by early May 2017.

Submission of an abstract constitutes the commitment of at least one of the authors to present the work as accepted, regardless of day/time assigned. If an abstract is accepted, the presenter will need to register to attend. All expenses including conference registration, accommodation and travel are the responsibility of the presenter. Submission of an abstract implies permission for it to be published in the Program and General Information Book.

Conference Proceedings

Full papers are expected for each presentation, with a maximum length of 4 pages. These will be subject to peer-review by the organising committee.

Papers for the conference proceedings must be submitted by 30 June 2017.
